Traditiegetrouw probeer ik ieder jaar, vóór de grote zomervakantie, een blog te plaatsen op het BERNINA blog over iets dat handig is om mee op reis te nemen. Of voor een outdoor activiteit in de eigen omgeving. Een oprolbaar picknickkleed, een Slingbag voor tijdens een wandeling met de hond, een stoere waxjastas en handige weekendtassen zijn al aan de beurt geweest. Zie onderaan deze blog.

Nu dan een cameratas! Een mooie camera zomaar over je schouder laten bungelen of in zicht dragen, is niet altijd even handig en verstandig. Deze tas ziet er niet meteen uit als cameratas maar is het dus wel. Het is extra zacht aan de binnenkant, stevig aan de buitenkant, heeft een lederen sterke riem en een binnenvakje voor extra memory-cards. De tas is precies groot genoeg voor een camera, een oplader en je kan ook nog de handleiding erin doen.

Is de tas moeilijk om te maken? Voor een beginner gaat deze tutorial waarschijnlijk te snel en valt de werkbeschrijving in het boek ook niet mee. Een pet voor Vaderdag!

Over een paar dagen is het alweer Vaderdag! Geen paniek, als je zelf iets maken, dan is deze pet een leuk idee die je gemakkelijk kunt maken van restanten stof. Je hebt er verder niet veel voor nodig, behalve dan het Vogue naaipatroon. Deze is verkrijgbaar bij Naaipatronen.nl

Een pet is altijd handig en de maten zijn vrijwel universeel. Je kunt de pet heel traditioneel maken, zoals ik heb gedaan, met tweed en wollen stoffen. Maar ook bijvoorbeeld van jeansstof of een printje.

Een tas van een waxjas! Heb je ook zo'n oude waxjas die helemaal versleten is, maar waar je geen afstand van kunt doen? Tijd om er de schaar in te zetten. Haal de goede onderdelen eraf en knip de nog goede stoffen-stukken uit en laten we de jas gaan verbouwen tot een tas! Een Chanel-Style jasje maak je niet zomaar. Het vergt vaak veel tijd en geduld om het beroemde Franse Bouclé jasje met de opvallende franjes, te maken volgens de naaitechnieken van Coco Chanel. Dit komt voornamelijk omdat de voering aan de buitenstof wordt vast-gequilt en er veel aandacht wordt besteed aan ‘shaping' en details.

In deze blog laat ik je zien dat het ook sneller en eenvoudiger kan zonder dat het jasje haar karakteristieken verliest. Ook laat ik zien hoe je het jasje zó maakt dat de binnenkant net zo mooi is als de buitenkant.

Deze hoed heb ik van zes zijden stropdassen gemaakt. De stropdassen van mijn man werden al een tijdje niet meer gebruikt. Jammer van die mooie zijde stoffen.. en dus bedacht ik een upcycling project: een stropdashoed!

Dit naaiproject is geschikt voor de meer ervaren naaister én diegene die een beetje geduld hebben. Voor Moederdag heb ik een glamour mandje gemaakt van een gratis naaipatroon. Het mandje is ideaal om spullen in op te bergen in de kast of op tafel. Het heeft een open bovenkant en je kunt er eventueel hengsels aan maken. Het mandje is gevoerd van gewatteerde stof dat ik zelf heb gequilt.

Het mandje is gemaakt van een decoratieve stof, dat ‘Glamour' heet, vandaar ook de naam voor het mandje.

Gobelin is echter ook ideaal voor dit soort projecten omdat het lekkere stevige stof is, maar wel altijd prettig om te naaien en vaak voorzien van prachtige prints.

Een sling bag is een tas die zo is ontworpen dat je hem comfortabel over je borst of rug draagt met één schouderriem. Een soort halve rugzak, zeg maar. De sling bag die ik heb gemaakt is ideaal voor lange wandelingen met de hond en daarom heb ik de tas geborduurd met hondenpootjes erop. Als kerstcadeautje heb ik een lijst gemaakt met daarin borduursels. Het thema is ‘Chanel', zoals jullie allen bekend: Chanel is het couture huis, beroemd om de gequilte handtas 2.55, Bouclé jasjes en parfum no. 5. Deze voorwerpen heb ik gezocht als borduurpatronen en deels gevonden. De Chanel-borduursels heb ik vervolgens met linten versierd en ingelijst. Al met al een leuk cadeau voor de feestdagen voor de liefhebber.

Een theemuts voor warmte en ouderwetse gezelligheid. Wie wil dat nu niet? Nu de dagen korter worden en menig huishouden ook binnen de kachel een paar graden lager heeft, is een warm kopje thee, binnen handbereik, niet alleen gezellig maar geeft ook warmte. Daar hoort een bijzondere theemuts bij!

Als je net als ik, ook probeert om zoveel mogelijk ‘Zero Waste' na te streven, dan zijn deze wellness-doekjes ideaal om zelf te maken. Je kan deze wasbare doekjes namelijk gebruiken om je gezicht te reinigen, als onderzetter te gebruiken voor je contactlenzendoosje, je make-up kwasten op te leggen of je kwasten mee te schoon te maken.

Ze zijn eigenlijk voor alles geschikt omdat ze goed water en vuil opnemen. Na gebruik kun je ze gewoon in de was doen en opnieuw gebruiken. Mijn favoriete zomer item is een wijd blousje zonder mouwen. In de BERNINA Inspiration 01-2022 staat hier een mooi patroon van, nummer 122-19 met de naam: Blouse ‘Dotty'. Het is een blouse die gemakkelijk is om te maken (2 sterren) en je kan er oneindig mee variëren.

Ik heb de blouse in twee variaties gemaakt:

in Chanel-stijl van Silky Satin stof
met een vleugje ‘vakantie-sfeer' in 100% katoenen stof.

Een picknickkleed en tas in één, is ideaal voor alle outdoor fans die graag ‘in stijl' op pad gaan. Oftewel: Country Chic! Dat is een trend die al langer populair is, zeker nu er steeds meer mensen genieten van een flinke wandeling in de natuur. Als je onderweg even wilt stoppen, is het ideaal om een picknickkleed bij je te hebben (vooral als er géén bankje in de buurt is…).

Dit picknickkleed kun je gemakkelijk dragen in de tas die er omheen aan vast zit, waar ook nog spulletjes bij in kunnen. Ga je dit jaar met Pasen naar een paasbrunch of ontvang je bezoek thuis? Dan is het wel leuk om er een beetje feestelijk uit te zien. Of niet zo zeer alleen feestelijk, maar ook een beetje vrolijk omdat Pasen meestal het begin van de lente aankondigt. Vogue heeft een mooi naaipatroon voor een jasje van kant. Niet te warm, niet te koud. Het is een bijzonder jasje omdat het uit drie laagjes bestaat die je aan elkaar vast naait. In de KNIP-Mode stond een naaipatroon van een keukenschort en een ovenhandschoen. Ik was meteen verliefd. Het is een vrouwelijke keukenschort door de rimpels boven de tailleband die bovendien veel bewegingsvrijheid geven. Daarnaast is de schort heel handig door de extra lus met ring waar je een handdoek aan kan hangen en een grote zak. Ik heb de keukenschort en de ovenhandschoen van een stofje van Spoonflower gemaakt. Daar was ik ook al verliefd op geworden! Wat vinden jullie, is het een match geworden?

Het naaipatroon van de ovenhandschoen is niet los te koop, maar daar heb je ook geen naai-patroon voor nodig. Tijdens de feestdagen is het natuurlijk leuk om je extra mooi aan te kleden en een outfit te maken die past bij de kerstsfeer. Ik heb een feestdagen-outfit gemaakt die chique oogt maar eigenlijk ook heel comfortabel is. De jurk is namelijk gemaakt van fluweel-stretch. Deze jurk is daardoor mooi maar ook comfy. De bolero is gemaakt van zijde en taftzijde en maakt de outfit feestelijk. Nu de feestdagen naderen is het leuk om eens na te denken wat je jouw oma, of moeder, cadeau geeft. Dat is best lastig. Een boek? Goed idee, maar welk boek? Of ga je iets voor haar maken? Dat zal ze zeker waarderen, vooral wanneer jouw DIY cadeau voor oma een schot in de roos is.

Oma heeft áltijd een brillenkoker in haar tas en een notitieboekje. Of het ligt op de tafel. Dàt wordt dus het cadeautje want deze zijn leuk om te maken en te personaliseren. Nu nog even haar lievelingskleuren bedenken en welke stijl ze mooi zal vinden, en wedden dat het een bruikbaar en zeer gewaardeerd cadeau zal zijn? Ik hou van overhemden. Vaak is een unis ex overhemd namelijk heel prettig om te dragen als je aan het werk bent. Je hebt veel bewegingsvrijheid en toch staat het ‘gekleder' dan een sweater of een hoody. Pompoenen à la Andy Warhol. De herfst is laat dit jaar. De bomen beginnen nu pas mooi te kleuren en we kunnen nog steeds genieten van pompoenen en tamme kastanjes.
